I hope you have been enjoying the sunny weather we've had lately, although it has cooled off somewhat now!
The team here at Ark have been keeping quite busy, as people are continuing to make plans to make the most of the space in the garden. Decking is still proving to be very popular and is an excellent solution to make hilly gardens into a usable space for your family and friends.
It's a shame we don't have a before photograph of this garden (below) to show you. The project consisted of clearing the space of growth and trimming back the hedges. We then retained ground behind the railway sleepers and leveled off that top area, topping with 20mm golden flint. The decking was built with steps leading up to the area and integrated railway sleeper steps onwards up to the top section. This provided an attractive area that is both versatile and fell within budget.

We have also noticed that pergolas have become more and more popular lately. Check out some of these latest builds. The first here, included building the retaining sleeper wall, replacement deck and pergola.

The second project here was to firstly install golden flint stone, retained within railway sleepers and then to build and install this pergola. I can imagine this area will be very pleasant with some climbers added and seating or dining furniture placed beneath!
